On November 16th, a new biomass cogeneration plant was inaugurated in the Municipality of Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango, within Grupo Sezaric facilities. This plant innovates by using solid biomass as fuel to meet the company’s heat and power needs, drawing upon the biomass residues from the plywood production process. For the development of the Project, the Cluster participated actively with technical support and different assessments of the technical/economic feasibility.

This project benefits 29 ejidos and 11 communities that join in Grupo Sezaric. The opening was attended by the Governor of Durango, José Rosas Aispuro Torres, the Director of the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), Salvador Arturo Beltrán, and other members of the local government, as well as the manager of the Company, Álvaro Guzmán.
