The Postgraduate Program in Sustainability Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with the collaboration of the Cluster of Solid Biofuels, has included a new field of knowledge that will be available from the 2020-1 call: ENERGY SYSTEMS.

This new field of knowledge will focus on “studying the processes of production and consumption of energy and its impact on socio-environmental systems, as well as the possible interventions within energy planning to build sustainable energy use schemes,” according to the description given by the postgraduate guidelines. In this guide, it is proposed that this new line will serve to meet demands such as:

 To promote the inter and transdisciplinary training of human resources in public and private institutions that are practitioners associated with the production and consumption of energy, efficiency plans, and energy savings.

 Strengthen institutional capabilities for the preparation of plans and programs to reduce emissions and save energy.

 To develop research and analysis to deepen knowledge towards the identification of intervention elements, prevention and mitigation measures, as well as the development of instruments to analyze the sustainability of energy systems.

 To gain in-deep knowledge about the social, economic, technological and environmental implications of the use of different energy sources and their consumption.

To those interested, we invite you to revise the details on the official page of the Postgraduate Program in Sustainability Sciences of the UNAM, where you will find information on the call, the instructions and the accredited tutors, among which are some members of the Cluster, such as Prof. Adrian Ghilardi, Prof. Carlos Alberto Garcia Bustamante, Prof. Omar R. Masera Cerutti, among others. Registration will be open until January 23, 2019.
